Skyways Express was founded already in 1987, but was previously known as Avia. In 1991 it took the smaller maarschappij Salair on and in 1997 the same small Highland Air. In 1998 a partnership was established with the largest company in Scandinavia, Scandinavian Airline Systems, and they took a quarter of the shares. The current owners of Skyways Express are Salenia, SAS and Janus. They then also form part of the alliance Well connected with SAS. The name of the frequent flyer program EuroBonus. Besides SAS Scandinavian Airlines Skyways Express has a number of partnerships with other smaller airlines.
