Sterling Airlines is a low cost airline which often offers of airline tickets. You can thus get a ticket for one low price. It was established as such in September 2005 by the merger of Sterling European Airlines and Maersk Air. Maersk Airlines had recently been bought by Icelandic investment company Fons Eignarhaldsfelag. A month after the merger, Sterling Airlines was included in the FL Group. In December 2006 Sterling was sold to the Nordic Travel Holding. That same year was even talk of a possible takeover by or merger with Easyjet. Sterling Airlines itself had a long record of service. The then Danish society was founded in 1962. The main airports for society are Copenhagen Airport, Oslo Airport, Gardermoen and Stockholm Arlanda Airport. What is striking about the concept of Sterling Airlines is that a large part of the operations only is carried out in the winter and the other part only in the summer. It is therefore advisable to look closely at the site which flights are regularly performed in the seasons.
