For example, by previously switching to use a high gear or your cruise control. In addition, you save fuel by using the air con good and not unnecessarily with anything on your roof or rear drive your car, such as a roof rack or bike rack. In the article about the purchase of fuel-efficient cars shows you how to save BPM as well as aggregation, but also fuel consumption. This article goes on to save fuel by being aware of your driving style and the accessories in your car you use.
By changing your driving style you can save up to ten percent fuel. Due to the lower fuel consumption not only save you at the pump, but also on maintenance costs. Some auto parts will wear out less quickly. In addition, the new car you drive also environmentally friendly.

New drive

What does the new drive then?
Switching
Turn off as early as possible to a higher gear. That means when your car does between 2000 and 2500 rpm, switch to a higher gear. That may seem contrary to what you have learned during your lessons before, but with the current engines can in urban areas often best in fourth gear drive.
cruise control
Use your cruise control or in other words: driving as much as possible at a uniform speed and low speed in the highest gear possible. Plan ahead so you can adjust the speed evenly. Let the gas already loose when you approach a traffic light and let the car roll further.
Engine
Turn the engine off when the bridge is open, or if you have to wait for the crossing. Do not use a gas when starting the car.
Ties
Check the tire pressure at least once a month, with cold tires. That means you no more than three kilometers have driven. The correct tire pressure ensures a longer lifespan, shorter braking distances and better road handling. In addition, you save fuel. If you drive with underinflated tires, use soon two percent more fuel.
Equipment
The equipment may also lead to extra consumption of gasoline. For example, the use of the rear heater provides 4 to 7 percent more fuel.
Accessories
Also accessories can provide more consumption of petrol or diesel. For example, a suitcase on your roof accounts for 16 per cent more fuel because the air resistance increases. Also leave your rack or bike no longer hang behind the car than necessary. These accessories provide 38 percent more fuel. Also a full trunk provides more usage. Every ten kilos of extra weight means o, 1 liter per 100 kilometers.

Aircon

The climate of all the equipment the most fuel. The use of air conditioning can lead to 25 percent more fuel. If you use the air conditioning wisely, it can be reduced to 10 percent.
Some tips:
  • If it is very hot, then take the first few minutes with the AC off and the windows open. Then close the windows again and the air conditioner on. So the worst heat can disappear disappear through the windows and cool the car more quickly than if you immediately use the air conditioning.
  • Turn on the air conditioning anyway only a few minutes after starting the engine, this prevents unnecessary fuel consumption besides also wear.
  • Turn off the air conditioner even before the engine is switched off. This prevents bacterial growth and condensation.
  • Use the air conditioner at least once a month, so in the winter, which prevents bacterial growth except condensation and also that there arise certain unpleasant odors.
